CORONAVIRUS - FILM/TV AWARENESS CERTIFICATE

I’ve completed the Screen Skills ‘Coronavirus basic awareness on production training’ certification in order to understand how Coronavirus is affecting video production and how production can be safely conducted.

On-Set Covid-19 Protocol

In response to Covid-19, I’ve outlined practical steps to aid hygiene and prevent contamination during filming. These initiatives are based around procedures and equipment for any given job.

Protocol For Shooting

With a view to keeping both others and myself safe whilst on set, I’ve adopted new practices while working, these will include:

  • Social distancing

  • Frequent hand sanitising

  • Temperature checks prior to shoots

  • Masks to be worn at all times

  • Where possible setting social distance markers between talent and camera, i.e when filming interviews or portraits

  • Limiting the amount of people handling communal equipment i.e monitor, microphones etc.

    Prioritising Hygiene

As kit is frequently used in many different environments, I’ve set the following steps of how best to keep equipment clean and sanitised prior and following shoots:

  • Sterilising kit before and after shoots

  • Where possible, prepping kit 48 hours prior to shoot and being left untouched

  • Enabling On-Set Distancing

  • Boom mic’ing interviews rather than clip mics where possible. Talent mic’ing themselves.
